The first time I came across the work off Jeff Burr was as a teenager as I nurtured my deep rooted appreciation for anything Full Moon. Puppet Master IV was the film, and despite the first three being considered the Holy Grail, I thought the third sequel continued the franchise very nicely. Watch Pumpkinhead Ii: Blood Wings 1993 Online free full putlocker, Thrill-seeking teenagers resurrect a demon from his grave and a bloody rampage for revenge begins.Burr popped up again to deliver a worthy Puppet Master V, and having cottoned on to this familiar name I hit the internet to see what else had graced Mr. Stepfather II stood out immediately, as did Texas Chainsaw Massacre III and of course the film we have under analysis here, Pumpkinhead II. Not that Jeff’s career has simply been as a gun for hire for studio sequels, as his best work in my opinion lies between The Offspring – an excellent chiller from 1. Vincent Price, and the 1. Eddie Presley which was (and hopefully still is) available in a great little set from Tempe Video. Back to Pumpkinhead II though, and a number of years had passed since FX guru Stan Winston had delivered his original. Hampered by the collapse of the film company, the original movie limped onto the international market in various guises – Vengeance: The Demon being one. Regardless of distribution issues though, you just can’t keep a good film down, and word soon spread about the original with it swiftly gaining a solid reputation, so much so that by the early 9. The first thing that hits you about the sequel is its obvious abandonment of the groundwork of the original, as we’re taken back to 1. Pumpkinhead origin story as a group of high school jocks mercilessly chase a disfigured kid through the woods before hanging him and stabbing him to death. Fast forward to the present day and we meet Sheriff Sean Braddock (Andrew Robinson) who has moved to the sticks from the city. He’s settling in to his new position, but both he and his wife are a little concerned to how their daughter Jenny (Ami Dolenz) will find the change of environment. Initial signs seem worrying for Sheriff Braddock as Jenny soon attaches herself with some kids who he considers to be trouble.
One night when Jenny is out with her new found friends – whose idea of . As they attempt to find out where she lives, they stumble across a cottage which is full of witchcraft elements but swiftly get stopped in their Scooby Doo- esque investigation by the old woman, who’s obviously a witch, who then casts a spell on them to wreak “the vengeance of the Pumpkinhead” (yes she really says that). There was a point while watching Pumpkinhead II – about half an hour in where I pressed stop, got up, and went and did something else for a half hour or so. I’d seen this film before as a teenager (The Revenge of Pumpkinhead as it was back then!), and loved it. Truth is – I wasn’t in the right frame of mind, I needed to loosen up a little. This sequel should really be best described as a 9. If it was shot in black and white it would probably fit in brilliantly alongside those classic monster movies from the 1. The Blob, Tarantula etc. It has all the classic hallmarks such as a small town, . Such are all these factors, that to me it needs to be judged on a different film criticism trajectory. I really don’t think that when Jeff Burr stepped behind the camera on this film he thought “let’s surpass the original”. Pumpkinhead 2: Blood Wings (1993) Trailer Ingles. Watch Pumpkinhead 2: Blood Wings Online With a budget under a million dollars and a shooting schedule of less than three weeks, the end product was more likely to aspire to be a monster movie that had the ability to entertain, and hopefully stand the test of time. A reason it succeeds is undoubtedly due to the work of KNB as well with regard to the make- up effects. I re- watched the great Tony Randel creature feature Ticks (1. KNB, and here it’s a similar tale. Pumpkinhead II has many flaws and if I was Phillip French or Chris Tookey it would no doubt be cast aside amidst a barrage of critical diarrhoea. I’m not though – I’m just a guy that likes horror movies, and Pumpkinhead II I remain quite fond of.
